Please call our office to get the local dial-up number for your location. *Each customer is responsible for choosing a dial-up number that is designated as a local call. Please verify this information through your local phone company. What is my billing cycle? We bill starting on the first business day of each month. Your payment is due the 15th of the month. How do I change my username or password? Call Conxxus or stop in the office and we will change it for you. The next time you connect to the Internet, enter your new username and password. Yes, just call or stop in the office and we will take care of it! I have a 56K modem but I only connect at 33.6K - Why? The highest anyone will ever connect with a 56K modem is 53K (this is regulated by the FCC). Phone companies only need to provide residents with good quality voice connection. Can I set Conxxus up on two different computers? With dial-up Internet you can have multiple connections but only one computer can be connected at a time. With wireless Internet, you will need a router to have multiple connections. Can we use Conxxus with Macintosh? Windows 3.1? Yes Can I use my Conxxus e-mail address with WEB TV? Yes, when you e-mail people through WEB TV, your WEB TV e-mail address will be attached to the e-mail not Conxxus's e-mail address. We suggest you use your WEB TV e-mail address. WEB TV set up asks me for a log in name and password. Use your Conxxus username and password. I have WEB TV and it asks me for a primary and secondary phone number. For the primary phone number, enter the local Conxxus dial-up number. A secondary phone number is not necessary. When I try to connect using dial-up, I receive a busy signal. Is it a fast or a normal busy signal? Fast-this means that the phone company's circuits are all busy. Normal-this means that Conxxus's modems are full. Conxxus continually increases the number of modems to keep busy signals to a minimum. What is TCP/IP? Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol is a group of protocols used to connect hosts. How do I know what version of Internet Explorer that I have? Open Internet Explorer Click on Help Click on About Internet Explorer How do I change my opening start page? In Internet Explorer- Go to Tools Click on Internet Options Click on the General Tab Under Home Page, highlight what is in the box and delete it Type in the address you want as your home page Click Apply Click OK In Netscape- Go to Edit Click on Preferences Under Home Page, highlight what is in the box and delete it Type in the address you want as your home page Click OK I try to access a Web page and it times out. The actual site may be having problems or too many people are trying to access the site. I cannot receive my hotmail or yahoo e-mail. Contact hotmail or yahoo directly. What is FTP? File Transfer Protocol is the protocol used to send files on the Internet. Can I use my AOL with Conxxus? Yes, just log on to Conxxus and then go to AOL's home page. I can send e-mail but I can't receive any- Make sure you are clicking on Send and Receive or Get Msg. If you still can't get e-mail click here. How do I forward a message? In Outlook Express and Netscape Messenger- Open the message you want to forward Click forward at the top of the message Enter the address to send to Send message How do I reply to a message? In Outlook Express and Netscape Messenger- Open the message you want to reply to Click reply at the top of the message Enter the address to send to Send message How do I send e-mail using my address book? A file sent along with an e-mail for you to view. How do I view attachments? Double click on the message. Then double click on the attachment to open it. Why can't I read an attachment? There could be 2 reasons: a) The sender attached a blank attachment. b)You may not have the proper program. Some attachments require certain programs to view them. If you don't have the correct program, the attachment may not be viewable. Can we e-mail others who are not on Conxxus? Yes, you can e-mail anyone in the world who has an e-mail address. Can I check my e-mail from another location? Yes, just log on to the internet and go to mail.conxxus.com and enter your e-mail address and password. Can I get two e-mail accounts? Yes, but an additional charge may apply.
